Berlin: Market sales

Earlier this week I noticed that ‘Hallam Foe’ will have a theatrical release here in Switzerland on October 4. I’m so excited!

The Berlin Film Festival is of course not only about the Competition for the Golden Bear. It’s also a place for selling upcoming films. According to Variety there’s more ‘Hallam Foe’ news: Prokino has acquired German and Austrian rights and the film has also been sold to Nordisk (Scandinavia), Rosebud (Greece), Monopole Pathe (Switzerland) and VTI/Karantanija (former Yugoslavia). As we’ve known for a while now Buena Vista Intl. will release the movie in the U.K. later this year.

The Outlander site also put me in the direction of this article at CinEuropa about WildBunch (who’s handling international distribution for ‘Outlander’):

Preferring to be based half-way between the Potsdamer Platz and the Martin Gropius Bau, instead of having a stand at the European Film Market at the Berlin International Film Festival, French international sales outfit Wild Bunch are still one of the major players at the market that begins on Thursday (Feb 10). Its line-up features over 40 films, including Howard McCain’s Outlander.
