Thanks be whoever decided to release “The Prince and the Pauper” on DVD in The Netherlands. Yesterday my much awaited copy arrived and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the 3 hour long adaptation of Mark Twain’s novel about Prince Edward and a beggar boy looking exactly the same and switching places. Need I say that my eyes were glued to the screen whenever Sophia Myles appeared as Lady Jane? Her small but noteworthy supporting role in this 6 part mini series was her professional acting debut – she was just 16 at the time. She briefly appears in parts 1, 2, 3 and again in the final part 6. I’ve added screencaptures for your viewing pleasure. Clips to follow soon.
