Love bites ...

March 2008   |   Written by Sky

Moonlight star Sophia Myles tell us about her TV vampire drama and her new life in Hollywood

You play a character called Beth Turner – tell us about her …
She doesn’t know much about vampires – but then she meets one called Mick and falls in love.

Do you believe in vampires?
No, but I’m fascinated by the idea of immortality – especially going out with an immortal.

You’re British and living in LA – do you miss home?
The homesickness comes in waves. I miss the smell of Britain and I miss Pizza Express! I feel a real foreigner at times. The work ethic is hard core over here. I have never worked so hard in my life.

What’s it like acting with an American accent?
It is like play an instrument. When you come to a foreign country you have to tune your voice into that melody.

Why are so many Brits working in LA?
There not as much film and TV being made in the UK. Over here the money is brilliant, there are steady jobs and a high quality of TV shows. And the sun always shines, of course!

Watch much telly?
The other day I had a marathon of Extras and I love wildlife documentaries. I really miss my Sky!
