Dan Weldon was killed earlier today in a tragic multi-car accident at today's Indy car  race in Las Vegas.   His was driving car number 77. From now on 77 will remind me of this very sad and tragic day. I hope the other drivers who were seriously injuried will be alright.
I express my deepest sympathy and prayers to his family and friends.

I saw in the paper today that Davy Jones from The Monkeys had died of a heart attack.
May He Rest in Peace!

My heart was broken when I saw that on Yahoo.

I used to LOVE watching The Monkees on TV when I was a kid.

I had the priviledge a few years back of seeing three out of the four of the original members (Davy was one of them) in concert. It was fantastic!!!

Part of the area we were at was lawn seating, which was cheaper that seats under the canopy. It started to rain, and I mean POUR! The concert was not a sale-out, and there were several of the expensive seats open. Davy had everyone that was brave enough to stay out on the lawn to come in under the canopy, even though we hadn't paid fore it. Not many entertainers would have done that.

The world has lost a wonderful person and a great entertainer.
