In a recent interview with MediaBlvd Magazine ‘Moonlight‘ lead Alex O’Loughlin also gave an elaborate answer on his working relationship with Sophia Myles and their on screen chemistry (Read full interview):

I’m Australian and she’s British, and we have similar sensibilities and a similar sense of humor. We grew up with the same TV. We have a lot in common. She’s easy to get along with, which makes a big difference, when you’ve got to spend 18 hours a day with somebody. But, as far as our relationship goes, in comparison to Mick and Beth, it’s very different. There is no tension between Sophia and I. We’re colleagues. We’re not lovers. We have our separate lives. People talk about on screen chemistry. We work together, and those two characters have this really fantastic chemistry. I see it, when I watch the show back, but it’s not tangible in real life. When you put it on film, it’s there.
Sophia Myles wasn’t featured in TV Guide’s Sexiest Stars issue - but their readers were asked who they should have included as well: Sophia is one of them:

‘Moonlight‘ star Alex O’Loughlin has been named Sexiest Sci-Fi Guy by TV Guide. In their Sexiest Stars issue (May 1) Sophia Myles was quoted:
“I’m immune to Alex’s hotness. I see more of him than of any boyfriend I’ve ever had. I’m very privileged because of that, but since I see him so much, I’ve overdosed on his hotness. It’s just the norm. But other people become weak in the knees around him. They start blushing. They drool. He has that Johnny Depp thing, a special sparkle that’s just magic. How do you define it? The young girls love him, the older ladies love him, and the gay guys love him. He’s really good at expressive movement and loves musical theater. He’s also up there with the greatest comedians I’ve ever known. I go home with stomach pains from laughing so hard. It’s constant. He’s kind of crude. English and Australians have a great connection when it comes to humor, and we can be outrageous. You couldn’t put some of it in print. Americans don’t know what to do with us, but I like that.”

Related Posts:The Annual Independent Critics List released their updated list of The 100 Most Beautiful Faces in the year 2008. Sophia Myles first appeared on the list last year (#85) but this time around she’s number 35. Obviously beauty lies in the eye of the beholder - and of course we would have placed her at the beginning of the list - but it’s great that also others are recognizing her beauty.
An utterly natural beauty with soft features… Sophia leaps 50 places from last year’s debut.
About the list:
The Annual Independent Critics List is Compiled by a Select Group of Up To 25 Invited Judges.
It Has Been Published on the Internet, on Various Websites, Every Year Since 1995.
This list is only about beautiful celebrity faces.
▪ It is not based on the “sexiest”, “hottest” or “best body”.
▪ You may discover some relatively unfamiliar faces.
▪ It is certainly not based purely on public popularity.
▪ This is not your standard Maxim or FHM or People list.
▪ There will probably be a few big name exclusions.
▪ Over 50 countries are represented in the Top 100 and the Runners-Up list.
Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz, Kate Beckinsale and Marion Cotillard made the first 4 places this year.
Related Posts:What a year for Sophia Myles! After spending the first few days of the year finishing up on the set of Outlander she came home to London - taking a much deserved rest after the exhausting shoot in rough Nova Scotia. She then joined the Hallam Foe team to the film’s premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February. Apart from doing a bit more of Hallam Foe promotion over the coming weeks it was a quiet time for Sophia Myles work-wise. Until the big job offer came: Joel Silver invited Sophia Myles to join the upcoming CBS series Moonlight! Less than a month later she found herself in Los Angeles working 6 days a week, and 18 (sometimes up to 20) hours a day. The hard work has certainly payed off: Sophia Myles has garnered much deserved attention from US audiences and we fans were treated to lots of picture coverage! Due to the writers’ strike however, production for the series went in hiatus in the last month of 2007 - but we’re all hoping it will be given a full season and/or be renewed for a second season.

Best news:
Sophia Myles winning Best Actress at Bafta Scotland and being nominated for Best Actress at the British Independent Film Awards - both for her amazing performance in Hallam Foe.
Coming in 2nd: The announcement of Sophia Myles joining Moonlight as female lead Beth Turner. It is always a happy day when I hear that Sophia Myles has landed a big part!
Worst news:
I absolutely hated coming across bad/negative reviews for Moonlight before it had even aired - and how dare some critics pan all of a show’s performances simply because they don’t like the series’ premise?
Favourite magazine picture:

I couldn’t decide - I love both the dreamy picture used in the Observer magazine and the classy pictures from Total Film’s Hitchcock photo shoot.
I am having a problem with the site’s gallery script - so the screencaps of this week’s again fantastic ‘Moonlight’ will have to wait until I’ve solved the problem.
However, I have for you a very nice photo of Sophia Myles with her puppy Jackson. He’s nine months old now. Because he can’t yet travel Sophia Myles is enjoying her free time staying on in the US.
For those of you who’ve been wondering about Sophia’s height, she is indeed 5′6” - and 120 lbs.
Related Posts:TVGuide have just published an article about ‘Moonlight’s leading star Alex O’Loughlin. The article as a whole is very informative - head over & read it - and quotes Sophia Myles on her costar:
“He’s a bundle of energy. And he’s funny — he makes me laugh all night long. With our schedule, 16 hours a day, six days a week, I couldn’t have hoped for anyone more wonderful to work with.Related Posts:What’s great about Alex is he can turn on the sex for the job, but he never abuses his good looks. He knows his place in the universe.”
With the writer’s strike still going on we are all wondering what is going to happen to ‘Moonlight’. Despite the fact that we really want the writers to get paid for their creative efforts I’m sure from an audience point of view we are also very anxious to keep getting entertaining & gripping television shows.
Anyhow, confirming some reports & rumours here: They are currently shooting Episode 11 of ‘Moonlight’ and will then be moving on to Episode 12 - but that is the last script they have because of the writer’s strike. Other than that nothing is sure - the cast is hoping to come back next year but haven’t heard anything as of yet.
Related Posts:Tonight the awards ceremony for the Bafta Scotland Awards took place at the City Halls in Glasgow’s Merchant City. As reported before Sophia Myles won the Best Actress award for her outstanding performance in ‘Hallam Foe’! Warmest congratulations to her again!
Actor Alastair Mackenzie - who also happens to be the brother of ‘Hallam Foe’ director David Mackenzie - presented the award and since Sophia Myles couldn’t attend due to working in LA for ‘Moonlight’ at the moment the film’s casting directors Kahleen Crawford and Des Hamilton - who were delighted for her - collected the award for her. They also read Sophia’s thank you note:
“I am filled with gratitude having won the Scottish Bafta for Best Actress. Making ‘Hallam Foe’ was a beautiful experience for all of us involved. Without Jamie Bell by my side and David Mackenzie behind the camera I would not be winning this. My huge thanks to both those guys! This is the first award I have won for acting. I’m horrified that because I’m currently working on an American series called ‘Moonlight’ in Los Angeles I am unable to be with you all tonight to thank you in person. Bafta Scotland rocks! Have a great night! Love, Sophia.”
