Even though the film has already been released in Latvian theatres ‘Outlander‘ will have a world premiere at the 61st Film Festival Locarno in Switzerland. It will be screened on the Piazza Grande on August 15 at 9.30 pm. And apparently Sophia Myles herself is going to be there. How amazing is that?! You may remember how over 2 years ago we wrote about Sophia’s attachment to ‘Heaven and Earth’ – a film about the true story of the first female doctor. Unfortunately, financing for the promising project, which would have featured Sophia in a lead role, could not be secured at the time. It was announced yesterday that Sophia Myles got nominated in the ‘Best Actress / Television‘ category at this year’s SyFy Genre Awards. Fellow nominees include the following acting talents: Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who), Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies), Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica) and Eve Myles (Torchwood). Sophia’s nomination marks the only nomination for ‘Moonlight‘. While The SyFy Genre Awards cannot be considered proper industry awards they are major. So, congratulation Sophia!

Here some updates on Sophia’s current movie productions: Latest news for ‘Hallam Foe‘ is that the film got a limited release in US theatres last Friday, June 6. Remember, the film is playing under the new title ‘Mister Foe‘. I don’t know in what cities the film is actually playing so if anyone has any info on that it’d be greatly appreciated. ‘Outlander‘ was screened for the first time in
