Louise (Sophia Myles) is a boarding school student in the midst of a passionate affair with the husband of her headmistress, Veronica (Sophie Ward). Jealousy and rage hang in the air of the isolated school until Matthew (George Asprey) suddenly disappears. Fearing the worst, Louise struggles to uncover what has happened to her lover, but is foiled at every turn by Veronica, who seems to take a sadistic glee in the psychological torment she inflicts upon her. When a mysterious woman appears at the school, Louise is convinced that she is to be the next victim. Haunted by nightmares, both real and imagined, Louise must keep herself alive long enough to uncover the truth of Matthew’s disappearance.

Director Merlin Ward
I'll never forget the day I first met Sophia. As soon as she read a few lines from the script, I knew she was the only choice for the lead. She has a natural talent, she's highly intelligent and the camera loves her. I admire Sophia enormously and wish her all the very best for a long and successful career.

Sophia Myles, a 22-year-old actress described as 'another Kate Winslet' did not gel with Merlin either, who eventually resorted to directing her through his assistant. 'But once she was out of her dressing room and on the set, usually with the promise of a cigarette, she was fine'".
