Many thanks Ali for alerting me to a blog post on the TV Choice website, where journalist Helen Childs reports about the experience of interviewing the Spooks actors recently. The actual interviews will be released in autumn when the show starts airing.
This confirms that Sophia’s role in the British series will indeed be as an MI-5 agent and there are some interesting new details about her character. She plays Beth (interestingly enough) who is based on a real life character. Despite wearing some impressive heels in at least one scene (pics) she will not be seen running in them. Remembering what she said in the January 2009 Podcast about heels & running I’m actually very relieved to hear that.

This is a bit late, but I only recently came across it. When Tristan & Isolde was shown on Channel4 in the UK just before Christmas, the Daily Mail’s supplement magazine Weekend featured a small portrait about Sophia Myles in the TV listing.

Wondering what Sophia Myles is up to at the moment? The Daily Mail has the scoop:
• Lady Penelope leaves her pink Rolls behind as she goes on a backpacking adventure
‘I have ticked a lot of those material aspiration boxes – I’ve been in big movies, I’ve bought a house. But at the end of the day inner peace is the most important thing,’ says vicar’s daughter Sophia, 29, who appeared in the 2004 Thunderbirds film.
‘I’m going backpacking to Thailand on my own, and I hope to get across to Cambodia. I haven’t planned anything. I’ve just booked a ticket, and I’ll see what happens.
‘I would have been quite scared to do it ten years ago, but now is the time. I’m doing it on my own. It could be a really liberating adventure’
Isn’t this fabulous?! It makes me want to go on a similar adventure myself!

The UK ‘Outlander‘ DVD will soon be released: August 31. In promotion of this a few small internet articles about Sophia Myles have surfaced. Not sure if the quotes in it are part of a full-length interview, which is yet to appear – let’s hope so – but I’ve added them already to the press archive:
