Wow! Sophia Myles has joked about never getting an action doll of one of her characters despite starring in a number of Sci-Fi films only recently in her interview with MediaBlvd Magazine.
Now, Nicole informs me that on January 31, 2008 one of the new Micro-Universe Spacecraft Sets will be the S.S. Madame de Pompadour from the Doctor Who episode ‘Girl in the Fireplace’ - also starring Sophia Myles as Madame de Pompadour. And guess what? The miniature spacecraft comes with a detailed painted figure of Madame de Pompadour herself! Click here to preview & preorder. Many thanks Nicole!

I’ve never really kept up with the status of ‘Doctor Who’ outside of the UK. So thank you to Aaron for bringing me up to speed.
Apparently, the 2nd series has aired already (incl. episode 4 also starring Sophia Myles) and has been available on DVD since January 16th this year. Buy Doctor Who: The Complete Second Series on Amazon.Com. The extras seem to be the same as on the UK DVD. Especially interesting for us: In-Vision commentary for episode 4 by David Tennant and Sophia Myles (and a producer), Outtakes and David Tennant’s video diaries.
I’ve added some more ‘Art School Confidential’ Portraits from last year’s Sundance Film Festival and replaced the Empire Australia Outtakes (2002) with HQs. Thanks to Kathy.

A little bit of trivia to start this first update of 2007: in a recent Doctor Who Magazine poll Sophia Myles was voted #3 in the category ‘Best Supporting Actress’:
1 Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith)- 26.89%
2 Camille Coduri (Jackie Tyler)- 18.56%
3 Sophia Myles (Reinette)- 18.45%
4 Pauline Collins (Queen Victoria)- 8.35%
5 Tracy-Ann Oberman (Yvonne Hartman)- 7.89%
Others- 19.86%
Despite divided opinions on the latest adaptation of Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ the BBC programme also starring Sophia Myles proved to be a hit in terms of audience figures:
Thursday’s screening aired on BBC1 at 9pm and was seen by 5.1 million people, a 22% share of the overall audience, making it the day’s most-watched programme in the UK.
Here now the latest gallery additions, including the promised Radio Times and The Times magazine scans:

22 Dracula - Trailer
01 Underworld - Stills Thank you Tara
03 The Times - T2 (this magazine is unfortunately printed on low quality paper)

Finally! The screencaptures of ‘Art School Confidential’ and its DVD extras. I’ve also added additional extras featuring Sophia Myles from the ‘Doctor Who’ Season 2 DVD box. The gallery counts now over 10,000 images. Enjoy!
409 Art School Confidential - Screencaptures
137 Art School Confidential - Deleted Scenes
008 Art School Confidential - Goofs
041 Art School Confidential - Making Of
058 Art School Confidential - Sundance Featurette
048 Doctor Who - David Tennant’s Video Diary
433 Doctor Who - In-Vision Commentary
018 Doctor Who - Outtakes
I’ve replaced the existing ‘Doctor Who’ screencaptures with high quality ones. As was the case with the ‘Tristan & Isolde’ captures to see them full-sized you have to click them twice. The reason for the smaller intermediate pictures is make picture-viewing agreeable to those who don’t have fast internet connections.

I got hold of the Doctor Who Confidential for episode 4. I’ve added the screencaptures.
Also Sophia Myles has been painted multiple times for her parts in various movies. I collected the pictures and added them to the gallery. There’s one more from the deleted scene in ‘From Hell’ but I can’t find my DVD at the moment. I’ll add that picture later…

I spent the whole day yesterday capping the ‘Tristan & Isolde’ DVD and uploading everything. Following is the summary of what I’ve uploaded to the gallery.
‘The Girl in the Fireplace’ aired on Saturday and Sophia’s performance impressed many who hadn’t heard of her before. That’s great! About the success of the episode itself, a quote from Gallifrey Online:
“Doctor Who” was again the #1 rated show on UK television on Saturday both by viewers as well as by audience share.
And Glamour Magazine UK have a video interview. Watch it, Sophia Myles is very funny and articulate!

We have ‘Sophia Myles Days’ coming up:
Tomorrow ‘Art School Confidential’ opens in New York and Los Angeles – with a wider opening next week.
On Saturday the Doctor Who episode airs on BBC in the UK.
On Sunday ‘Colditz’ airs on Teleclub Cinema in Switzerland. There are also repeats later on. See the airings for Part 1 and for Part 2. Also the pay TV channel Premiere in Germany will be airing the Colditz mini series next Wednesday and Thursday.
Related Posts:The official BBC site for Doctor Who is ready for the Saturday airing of Sophia’s episode ‘The Girl in the Fireplace’. Visit for pictures and trailer. If anyone has the time to make screencaps for the site that’d be great! Also if you could scan any new stills of Sophia as Madame du Pompadour from UK TV mags etc. I don’t live in the UK so it’s hard to get those.
