The current comeback of ‘Moonlight‘ also got written about in the press. I added 3 articles with Sophia-relevant information to the press archive:
• Myles Sure CBS To Renew Moonlight, SciFi Wire, April 30
• Tidbits about the final episodes of ‘Moonlight’ from Fango’s Weekend of Horrors, iF Magazine, May 1
• The biting truth, Zap2It, May 4
There’s a lot of life change that’s happened to her. And it’s been very, very interesting to play. I mean, I try and play her as I see her, [a] very pure, very honest soul. And I tried to play it in such a way that the female audience who are watching it can imagine themselves standing in my shoes and really live the love story through me. I kind of use myself as a vessel for that.
And if you’re a fanvids creator on YouTube there’s a real chance Sophia might have seen yours:

Kristin Sample from TV Squad recently visited the set of ‘Moonlight‘ and got to interview the cast, incl. Sophia Myles. Read her articles with the pictures here or in our press archive. Hit ‘Read More’ at the end of this post to only read the Sophia relevant parts of the article. [edit] There’s another article with interviews on MovieWeb and an interview over at Blogcritics (features some inaccuracies) [/edit]
Amongst a lot of other things we learn that Sophia is actually not sporting new hair extensions but is wearing a 3/4 wig while filming. Unfortunately, Sophia had to find out the hard way that hair extensions are ‘a recipe for disaster, especially if you have fine hair’. I shall take this advice to heart then.

To shorten the wait till April 25 when there will be new episodes watch some short clips of new scenes on YouTube - thank you Meredith for pointing them out! Scene 1 (with Sophia), Scene 2 (without Sophia)

I’m sorry for the lack of updates recently but apart from the fact that I’m not able to spend as much time online as I used to Sophia Myles is also busy shooting new episodes for Moonlight so we have to wait for those to air to have new pictures etc. Nevertheless, I have some additions that I’ll try to put online soon.
In the meantime there are many activities going on to ensure the future of Moonlight - but me living so far away from where it’s all happening, it’s rather difficult to get as excited. So, while I’m obviously hoping for the best of news for the show, I encourage all of you living in the US to get involved. Check out Moonlight United and Moonlight Fans for further info.
I recently came across tiny articles/interviews on the TV section of UK Yahoo! Check them out in the press archive:
• Moonlight Becomes Her
• Sophia’s Birthday Cake(s)
Related Posts:“I had a lovely day. It’s because we were working, so it was not a problem at all turning a year older. I was on the Warner Brothers lot with all my Moonlight friends, so it was nice.”
about her birthday“We work days the first few days of the week then we claw back further and further, so towards the end of the week we’ll work Thursday night into Friday morning; sleep Friday then work Friday night into Saturday morning. We call that day ‘Fratterday’ because it completely obliterates you. You only get a one day weekend because you sleep all day Saturday.”
Today Sophia Myles was interviewed by a few reporters in a conference call. One of them was Jennifer Squires Biller and she posted her part of the interview as well as some additional quotes on Tube Talk. Be sure to head over - it’s a very interesting read.
[edit:] The big news from that article: ‘Moonlight’ is coming to the UK on February 18!
[edit2:] Monsters and Critics and Moonlight Detective (recommended read since it appears to be the complete interview) have also published their versions of the interview write-up.
Also I can announce that there are a few really good suprises in store for the site!
Related Posts:I’ve finally updated the Press Archive with all the various Sophia-related items I recently found online. Topics vary from Moonlight over Hallam Foe to Outlander and end with Sophia’s recent award nominations. They include interviews and general articles. There are too many to list them all separately so check out the Latest Additions. If you know of more articles/interviews please get in touch - I’d be glad to add them ![]()
“Play a British accent and you are the butler or the baddie,” commented Myles, who portrays a web hackette tangling with a hunky vampire in Moonlight. “Do American and you can take the world.” Why did this take us so long to learn?

I’ve also updated the awards and calendar page with the most recent info.
Related Posts:Ever since I knew they were at the Berlin Film Festival back in February and interviewed Sophia Myles I have been anticipating their interview: Today as Hallam Foe opens in theatres in Switzerland it is finally online on their website: OutNow.ch. I’m happy they also have it in English - so head over or to the site’s press archive to read it.
They also have one with Jamie Bell where he lets out the secret on his on-screen chemistry with Sophia Myles:
ON: You have an awesome chemistry with Sophia Myles in the film, for instance when you’re flirting in the bar. JB: For that scene we just got wasted. It usually helps a scene like that, if you are drunk. It’s boring to pretend to be drunk. (He laughs) Sophia is playing a very interesting character. She’s broken inside. She has a marriage that ended. She’s now sleeping with her boss which I’m sure isn’t the most pleasant experience. Suddenly this weird guy comes along who is a bit off the coffin. I guess for a character like Kate this youthful energy would be very intriguing. He really loves her and looks at her like she’s coming from heaven. For such a broken character this is incredible attractive.Related Posts:

And I found this lovely interview with Sophia Myles on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s a real must-see. Sophia talks ‘Hallam Foe’, Edinburgh, ‘Outlander’ and ‘Extras’. Also, since that interview was recorded during the general ‘Hallam Foe’ UK press tour - which I believe took place early June - Sophia obviously didn’t know she’d be doing ‘Moonlight’ next when asked about her upcoming projects.

‘Hallam Foe’ opened the 61st Edinburgh International Film Festival earlier today. As most of us guessed Sophia Myles is being kept in the US by the busy shooting schedule for ‘Moonlight’ - they’re currently filming episode 3.
But instead I’m very happy to have for you the scans of Sophia’s features in the September issues of the following UK magazines: Elle - it arrived at my local newsagent today - and Total Film - it arrived in my letterbox also today. The latter one is part of their Hitchcock Special; to quote Total Film: “Hence our wheeze of shooting the stars in stark, Hitch-riffing shadow”. It is in my opinion one of the best-looking Sophia photoshoots ever. Enjoy!

General theatrical release for ‘Hallam Foe’ is approaching: in the UK (August 31) as well as in Germany (August 30) and Switzerland (September 20). Germany have settled on a ‘German’ name: ‘Hallam Foe - this is my story’ is the new offical film title (before it was ‘Hallam Foe - anständig durchgeknallt’). This is a little bit of trivia for you.
I’ve added the UK & German posters and one new still to the gallery as well as the Production Notes to the press archive. Here just some little quotes:
And then as Kate, the damaged young woman who into Hallam’s life, Sophia Myles brought a different dimension. She’s perfect, both hard and soft, professional and vulnerable and in her and Jamie’s hands the magic of the second part of the film just flows.”, says [producer Gillian] Berrie.
When Sophia first read the script she was so impressed she wrote to Mackenzie: “When I read it I was ‘yes please I want to do this’ and I wrote a letter to David, which I’ve never ever done before – I’ve never begged anyone for a job, but I was so passionate about it I really wanted to be part of it.”
By the way, I’ve just finished watching the 3 videos from the Q&A session after the blogger screening. I recommend you make sure to watch Part 1 since that’s the one where Sophia talks the most. She talks about writing to director David Mackenzie after having read the script (see Production Notes) and about when someone on Myspace pretended to be her.
