The Georgian – a Canadian newspaper – has published an article about the ‘Outlander’ shoot that is to begin there next week. Read it in our press archive. The article confirms the details that have already been posted here. Cited is producer Mr. Carmody and he also mentions that they’ll be shooting funeral scenes. And that a Viking funeral requires the body of the king to be set adrift on the ship and set on fire. Doesn’t this remind us of ‘Tristan & Isolde’?

Sophia Myles has landed a new role as Freya in Harvey Weinstein’s upcoming movie ‘Outlander’. Howard McCain is directing his own script that he co-wrote with Dirk Blackman. The story is set in 709 AD.

Plot: A man from another galaxy crash-lands on Earth during the time of the Vikings. By accident, he brings with him an alien predator that he must destroy with the help of a Viking tribe.

The film also stars Jim Caviezel and Jack Huston (Anjelica’s nephew). Shooting will begin October 16th in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and last 11 weeks (with a break over Christmas). Sophia’s character is a warrior.
