‘Outlander’ Making Of & More

Following ‘Outlander‘ on Twitter certainly brings us fabulous information. There’s another opportunity to win a VIP screening here and it leads us to an interesting and totally new over 16 minute long Making Of. The Outlander fansite has word that it will eventually turn up on the Region 2 DVD but isn’t on the recently released French DVD/Blu Ray or the upcoming Region 1 DVD/Blu Ray. It also has some nice moments of Sophia Myles so be sure to watch!

Someone uploaded a hiliarious imitation of the UK Trailer to YouTube. It’s a shot by shot re-make with action figures such as He-Man, Thundercats, Star Wars and more. Definitely a must see!

Outtakes from reviews (added to the Outlander page):

But it’s Sophia Myles who steals the show, her performance as beautiful but ballsy Viking girl Freya giving the boys a run for their money in the action stakes.

John Hurt is excellent as the watchfully wise king, as are Sophia Myles as his feisty daughter and the other-worldly James Caviezel.

India’s official “Outlander” site

Wow! Outlander’s distributor for India managed what the US (seemingly) can’t: they put together a professional looking official movie page! Check it out here!

The only sad part is that they don’t seem to be promoting Sophia’s part in it as much. But they have some great wallpapers, screensavers, 10 30-second teaser trailers as well as some promotion reels, and a beautiful presskit. I highly recommend browsing around and discovering all the content.

I’ve added some Sophia related material to the media parts of the site:

5th Anniversary: “Heartbeat” Screencaptures

Today it’s been exactly 5 years that Absolutely Sophia Myles first opened its doors! Back then it was hosted on some unknown free host on a very long URL but it was only a few months until I realized how much I loved running this site and bought a domain. Time has really flown by and I am proud to have kept the site up to date for half a decade. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you loyal visitors who have encouraged and helped me along the way. Most of all thank you Sophia Myles for being such a great inspiration to all of us!!

As a treat for you all I have made screencaptures of Sophia’s guest appearance on one of England’s longest running series: “Heartbeat“. The programme first aired in 1992 and is currently in its 18th season and is a period police drama set in 1960’s North York Moors. Back in 2001 (Season 11) a 21 year old Sophia played a central character in what was, I believe, a Christmas Special called No Hiding Place.

As Christmas arrives in sleepy Aidensfield, Mike and Tricia try to reunite a blind woman with her stolen guide dog – and in time-honoured fashion, they share a drunken kiss under the mistletoe to boot. Elsewhere, the local menfolk have their heads turned by the arrival of a stunning beauty trying to evade the paparazzi

As the series – apart from a few early episodes – have so far never been released on video or DVD it’s almost impossible to catch up with this project of Sophia’s. So the hugest thank you goes to Dawn who shared her recording with me and thus has made this update possible!!! Enjoy the screencaptures of Sophia as the breathtakingly beautiful actress Heather Conway with a secret on the run:

The Prince and the Pauper – DVD Screencaptures

Thanks be whoever decided to release “The Prince and the Pauper” on DVD in The Netherlands. Yesterday my much awaited copy arrived and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the 3 hour long adaptation of Mark Twain’s novel about Prince Edward and a beggar boy looking exactly the same and switching places. Need I say that my eyes were glued to the screen whenever Sophia Myles appeared as Lady Jane? Her small but noteworthy supporting role in this 6 part mini series was her professional acting debut – she was just 16 at the time. She briefly appears in parts 1, 2, 3 and again in the final part 6. I’ve added screencaptures for your viewing pleasure. Clips to follow soon. Enjoy!

Yesterday: The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

So sorry to not have put up a reminder to watch Sophia Myles on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night but I was in bed with a fever. Anyway, feeling much better now and I have for you clips and caps of the lovely interview. Wasn’t she doing fabulous?! I was sorry to hear about her purse and I hope whoever stole it realizes what a stupid thing to do that was and makes amends.

More ‘Outlander’ News

Many of you have wondered when ‘Outlander‘ would finally be released in the US. It seems that the Weinstein Company who owns the North American distribution rights is having some financial problems. There have been rumours of them planning to release the film on only 50 screens and then put the film on DVD. The other rumour was that they’re trying to find a new distributor. Definitely the film is deserving to get a wide release so we’re hoping for the best. The respected website Ain’t It Cool News recently had an open letter to Harvey Weinstein. Read it in the press archive – and I’m sure it’ll make you want to see the film even more, it’s written so enthuasiastically!

It’s a good cast. John Hurt and Ron Perlman and Jim Caviezel and Sophia Myles and this Jack Huston guy who should be due his big break any second. All of them are rock solid in it
