How time flies! It seems like yesterday that Absolutely Sophia Myles had been celebrating being online for half a decade and already another year’s passed. For the occasion I finished coding a new layout for the website.

A while ago members of the messageboard had the opportunity to create a layout for the site. In the end only one was submitted – but what a gorgeous layout this is! Luna designed the graphics – many thanks! – which in turn highly influenced my coding. I’ve been going over everything so I think it should all work – but please let me know if you encounter any problems.

What else is new? In the sidebar I replaced the random quotes by Sophia Myles with new orginal ones. Enjoy!

It was also time to change the poll question. Since January 2, 2009, 766 of the site’s visitors have answered the question ‘What’s your favourite character?‘. The result was overwhelmingly clear: 515 people (or 67%) chose Beth Turner from ‘Moonlight‘. The other top choices were Isolde (‘Tristan & Isolde‘) with 18% and Reinette (‘Doctor Who‘) with 9%. But only 1% or 10 people prefer the character of Kate Breck in ‘Hallam Foe‘ to all others. See all results here. I did a check up on all of our affiliates and added those that were still missing. The page should now be complete and only contain websites I myself like to visit from time to time. If your site is affiliated with Absolutely Sophia Myles but isn’t listed please contact me and I’ll add you.

There’s also a new site policy concerning affiliates. I can no longer accept small archive sites which offer few information and next to no news or updates about their subject. The websites in question were notified and deleted. I’ve also closed new applications in order to keep the list at reasonable length. If you’re already a friend of the site or have a Sophia Myles related website and wish to exchange links please contact me and we’ll see. Thanks for not applying at random!

I’ve finally taken the time to finish a page in the Sophia section here on the site: Through the Years. There are currently 36 pictures of Sophia from her childhood until 2008. Enjoy!

And the gallery is back! A HUGE thank you to Gertie from Fan-Sites.org for hosting our extensive photo & media archives. I’ve been extremely busy transferring all the files to the new server and I hope you won’t come across missing files. If you do please let me know. Over the coming hours also the Public Appearances, Television and TV Appearances categories should be filled with pictures. Another big thank you to Pure Vowels for your help with the adapting of the photo & video layouts.

It’s been over 6 months that there has been no information on Sophia Myles’ projects available on this site. Truth is I had started this new build-up for the Projects section and the original plan was to launch it together with all the other newly re-designed sections back in January. However, I hadn’t finished in time and opted for a delayed opening. Yet time flew by and I still haven’t finished. So, I decided to allow public access to the section even though it is only partially finished. I promise I will soon finish the other sub-sections too.

Meanwhile browse around the sections Upcoming, Movies and Info. This also brings back the calendar and awards information pages. The new feature is an overview of films that are sometimes falsely reported to feature Sophia (Underworld: Evolution) or never went into production (Buddha’s Little Finger).

Of course only now can you properly vote which layout you like best. At the moment the results are: Photo Gallery 46 %, Main Site 26 %, Media Vault 12 %, Press 9 % and 6 % who voted for Projects even though they hadn’t even seen it. I’ve now deleted all answers to allow a ‘true’ result.

I’ve finally updated the Press Archive with all the various Sophia-related items I recently found online. Topics vary from Moonlight over Hallam Foe to Outlander and end with Sophia’s recent award nominations. They include interviews and general articles. There are too many to list them all separately so check out the Latest Additions. If you know of more articles/interviews please get in touch – I’d be glad to add them

I have re-structured the presentation of the video & audio clips here on the site. They can now be found in the Media Vault. They’re still zipped, meaning you need to download them to your own computer to be able to view them. I’ve always been particular about having my own designs for my sites and having the gallery look similar to the main site. Despite all this I decided to ask Kathy of Washedaway to design a header for the gallery. She did and it’s online now. The new structure is also created by her.
