Sophia to take part in the ultimate theatrical challenge!

I am absolutely delighted to announce that Sophia Myles will be one of the actors taking part in The 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala!

My agent sent me an email asking if I was interested in taking part in the 24 Hour Plays Gala at The Old Vic Theatre. I almost wet my pants in fear just reading the email. I am not a stage actress as you all know… but what I do know is this… facing FEAR is the gateway to the next dimension.

I have said yes. I can’t believe I have said yes. Sky diving naked almost seems less scary!  So please wish me luck and if I die as the curtain comes up you are all invited to my funeral.

Love to you all!  Sophia x

Additional ‘Spooks’ Set pictures

I added 11 additional pictures from last week’s ‘Spooks‘ set. Some of them are a bit similar to those we’ve already got (I tried to arrange that the most similar ones are displayed next to each other) but we can also now see who the legs of the guy sitting on a chair belong to: to another new member of the cast for Season 9: Max Brown.

Edit: Replaced the photos from Sophia’s 1999 theatre performance in ‘The Four Alice Bakers‘ with untagged versions.

“The Four Alice Bakers” Stills

I added 2 stills of Sophia taken during the actual performance of the Fay Weldon play ‘The Four Alice Bakers‘. I can’t believe I never saw these pictures before, but the few places that have them didn’t list Sophia’s name for the pictures so I couldn’t find them. The untagged versions I found were of much poorer quality (they’ve been posted in the messageboard) so I decided to add the ones with the light tag on them.

Sophia played the young Alice Baker opposite Richard Armitage at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre from February 19 to March 13, 1999. So far we only had 2 pictures from the rehearsals, thanks to Richard Armitage Online. They also have more info about their scene together:

In his first scene with Sophia Myles as the young Alice Baker, set in 1952, the couple dance a foxtrot to ‘Some Enchanted Evening’, he so badly that they give up and, in the course of three pages of dialogue, become engaged instead.

Rainbow Magic: Fairy stories on audio books

Over the past few months Sophia Myles has been lending her voice to audio book versions of the very popular fairy stories from Rainbow Magic written by Daisy Meadows for little children. Two of them are already available as a set including the single CD (duration: 1 hr 10 mins) and the illustrated book. I’ll put up a short synopsis of the two books as well as a link to a site that lists all the sellers where they are available.

Rainbow Magic: Holly the Christmas Fairy Available at

A delightful Christmas audio edition, magically brought to life with fairy music, and beautifully read by actress, Sophia Myles. The King and Queen of Fairyland are all in a fluster. Jack Frost is up to his old tricks and has kidnapped the Christmas elves. Without the elves to make the presents and decorate the trees, there won’t be any Christmas this year. Can Rachel and Kirsty save the day, with a little help from Holly the Christmas Fairy?

Rainbow Magic: Stella the Star Fairy Available at

One of two very special “Rainbow Magic” Christmas audio editions – “Stella the Star Fairy” is beautifully read by actress, Sophia Myles, and the accompanying music is sure to delight “Rainbow Magic” fans everywhere. Stella the Star Fairy, is all in a flutter, trying to put the sparkle into Christmas. Stella looks after all the special Christmas lights – from the overhead illuminations, to the Christmas tree fairy lights, right through to the twinkling stars. Three magic Christmas baubles control all of these elements but now Jack Frost’s goblins have stolen them. There’s not going to be any Christmas atmosphere and Santa won’t even be able to guide his sleigh through the night sky. Stella the Star Fairy needs Rachel and Kirsty’s help to get the baubles back.

Spring 2006 will see the release of another book read by Sophia Myles: Rainbow Magic: Summer the Holiday Fairy.
