New Layout + Project Updates

I am very excited to be able to reveal the new look at Simply Sophia Myles! For the first time since its creation, this website is now fully responsive!

Version-8-0

So what does that mean?!

Well the website will now recognise how you are accessing the site (be it PC, Tablet or Mobile) and respond to give you the fastest loading times and easy access to the information you are looking for. If you are reading this on your mobile/tablet then you should already see a more streamlined look to the website. If you are on your PC then you will be seeing our site in all of its glory but if you want to see how it changes then simply resize your browser screen and see the site respond to different sizes 🙂

Not only that, but we have updates for TWO of Sophia’s TV roles: Our Zoo and Crossing Lines. Crossing Lines Season 2 is now available in the UK on Amazon Prime Instant Video – I will be posting again shortly with gallery and video updates so keep checking back! Meanwhile, BBC have released a trailer for Our Zoo and we get a brief glimpse of Sophia as Lady Katherine.

Check it out for yourself below:

AND, if that isn’t enough I also have some HQ images of Sophia attending the screening of the Blackwood 3D Art Launch on 30th July 2014

    New Project: Our Zoo

Sophia is set to appear in new BBC drama, Our Zoo as Lady Katherine:

Lee Ingleby and Liz White are to star in new BBC One drama, Our Zoo based on the inspiring real story of the eccentric Mottershead family who established Chester Zoo in the 1930s.

Written by award-winning playwright Matt Charman, and made by Big Talk, the series sees Lee Ingleby (Inspector George Gently) play George Mottershead, an ex-serviceman with a dream to build the first British zoo without bars, with Liz White (Life On Mars) playing his loyal wife Lizzie Mottershead, mother to Mew and June.

BAFTA-nominated actress Anne Reid (Last Tango In Halifax) takes the role of Lucy Mottershead, whose world is turned upside down when her husband, Albert (Peter Wight, The Paradise), sells their shop to help fund George’s plans for the zoo and both are forced to live with their son and family in the country.

The series also stars Ralph Little (The Royle Family) as Lizzie’s mischievous brother Billy Atkinson, Sophia Myles (Underworld) playing Lady Katherine, the mysterious aristocrat who lives next door, and Stephen Campbell-Moore (The History Boys) playing Reverend Aaron Webb.

Upcoming actors Amelia Clarkson and Honor Kneafsey play George and Lizzie’s children, Mew (Clarkson) and June (Kneafsey).

The drama is being supported by June Williams (née Mottershead) and the world-renowned Chester Zoo. Marcus Wilson (Doctor Who) will produce with executive producers Luke Alkin, Kenton Allen and Matthew Justice for Big Talk Productions and Adam Kemp for Aenon. Andy De Emmony (The Bletchley Circle) is lead director.

    New Project: Crossing Lines

Some very exciting news – Sophia is set to guest star in the second series of NBC’s global crime drama Crossing Lines.

Crossing Lines is NBC’s new action-packed global crime drama. The series taps into a unit mandated by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate cross-border crimes and ultimately bring global criminals to justice. Crossing Lines is set in the world’s most exotic locales, where an elite team of eager cops work to solve the most notorious international crimes.

The series stars William Fichtner (“Prison Break”) as Carl Hickman, a wounded New York cop, pulled from the edge by a group of unlikely saviors, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Donald Sutherland (“The Hunger Games”) as Michel Dorn, an inspector in the International Criminal Court, and Marc Lavoine (“The Good Thief”) as Louis Daniel, the head of an elite cross-border police unit who hunts down the world’s most brutal criminals. Also starring in the series are Gabriella Pession (“Wilfred”) as Europol sergeant Eva Vittoria, Moon Dailly (“Black Heaven”) as French detective and criminal analyst Anne-Marie San, Richard Flood (“Titanic: Blood and Steel”) as Irish detective Tommy McConnel and Tom Wlaschiha (“Game of Thrones”) as Berlin police officer Sebastian Berger.

Through globalization, many countries have been opened and barriers removed to ensure easy trade, travel and cultural diversity. However, this openness has given opportunities to criminals looking to exploit the system and ultimately threaten our global safety. As Europe has become a “safe house” for criminals eluding law enforcers, a special kind of law enforcement team is needed to handle specific ongoing crimes on a global level. “Crossing Lines” is the story of one such team, made up of five international cops, headed by Captain Daniel. The team – comprised of individuals who have little in common – must learn to live and work under the most dangerous and potentially deadly conditions. Housed in an unused storage section underneath the ICC, this mismatched team faces bureaucratic, jurisdictional and cultural obstacles while traversing continents in pursuit of justice.

Crossing Lines is produced by Tandem Communications in association with Bernero Productions in coproduction with TF1 Production and in association with Sony Pictures Television Networks. Edward Allen Bernero (“Criminal Minds”), Rola Bauer (“The Pillars of the Earth”), Jonas Bauer (“The Company”) and Tim Halkin (“Labyrinth”) serve as executive producers.
