More video clips + screencaps

First of all, my update on all recent text interviews + articles as well as some quotes from reviews for Sophia Myles’ recently released film ‘Hallam Foe’ is on its way.

In the meantime I’ve been busy adding video clips and screencaps to the media parts of this site. Many thanks to Aaron for the heads up to some of them. First the links to view them all in their original format:

‘Hallam Foe’ interviews: TimeOut.com, Empire Online.com, MyMovies.net
‘Hallam Foe’ featurettes: Making Of by Film4 (15 min), Trailers & Featurettes at The Filmfactory

Although the ‘Hallam Foe’ interviews were all conducted on the same day and mainly cover the same topics they’re all worth seeing since Sophia’s very lovely and charming and answers all the questions genuinely – not as if she were answering the same questions for the zillionth time.

You can also download lower quality versions from this site’s Media Vault:
Videos – Movies – Hallam Foe
Videos – Online Interviews – 2007
And I’ve added a ‘Tristan & Isolde‘ interview from early 2006 upon request.

EDIT: You can now watch these clips in our new media archive (here)

And here are all the screencaps:
155 Hallam Foe – Screencaptures > Making Of, The Story of Hallam Foe, by Film4
060 Hallam Foe – Screencaptures > Featurette, Who is Hallam Foe?
121 Rotten Tomatoes UK interview
094 Empire Online.com interview
150 TimeOut.com interview
053 MyMovies.net interview

Video interview

‘Hallam Foe’ opens in UK theatres today – so please go out and see it!

And I found this lovely interview with Sophia Myles on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s a real must-see. Sophia talks ‘Hallam Foe’, Edinburgh, ‘Outlander’ and ‘Extras’. Also, since that interview was recorded during the general ‘Hallam Foe’ UK press tour – which I believe took place early June – Sophia obviously didn’t know she’d be doing ‘Moonlight’ next when asked about her upcoming projects.

‘Hallam Foe’ Publicity

General theatrical release for ‘Hallam Foe’ is approaching: in the UK (August 31) as well as in Germany (August 30) and Switzerland (September 20). Germany have settled on a ‘German’ name: ‘Hallam Foe – this is my story’ is the new offical film title (before it was ‘Hallam Foe – anständig durchgeknallt’). This is a little bit of trivia for you.

I’ve added the UK & German posters and one new still to the gallery as well as the Production Notes to the press archive. Here just some little quotes:

And then as Kate, the damaged young woman who into Hallam’s life, Sophia Myles brought a different dimension. She’s perfect, both hard and soft, professional and vulnerable and in her and Jamie’s hands the magic of the second part of the film just flows.”, says [producer Gillian] Berrie.

When Sophia first read the script she was so impressed she wrote to Mackenzie: “When I read it I was ‘yes please I want to do this’ and I wrote a letter to David, which I’ve never ever done before – I’ve never begged anyone for a job, but I was so passionate about it I really wanted to be part of it.”

By the way, I’ve just finished watching the 3 videos from the Q&A session after the blogger screening. I recommend you make sure to watch Part 1 since that’s the one where Sophia talks the most. She talks about writing to director David Mackenzie after having read the script (see Production Notes) and about when someone on Myspace pretended to be her.

Launch of 61st Edinburgh International Film Festival Programme

Sophia Myles attended the Launch of 61st Edinburgh International Film Festival Programme at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh yesterday. As previously announced her new film ‘Hallam Foe’ will open the festival and you can win tickets for the Opening Night Gala. Visit the festival’s official site to find out how. Glasgow’s The Herald has this Sophia-relevant quote:

Ms Myles, who attended the launch of the festival programme yesterday, said: “Hallam Foe is perfect for the opening of the film festival, because David has filmed the city so beautifully, it really is the star of the film.”

They also have a little picture of her at the launch event on the front site and Mariana has sent in some more. Many thanks. Enjoy these pictures as I’m sure they’re the last we’ll see of Sophia Myles before she heads off to LA where shooting for ‘Moonlight’ is due to begin next week.
